Care & Support for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs) Project

Having sensed the perils of the PLHAs, and no one was there to support them,  MNEC started an exclusive Centre named “SANTHOSH” in October 2006, for providing Care and Support measures to the HIV/AIDS affected and infected children, women, widows, women sex workers and men, for maximizing the quality of their life.  There have been – 156 women, 13 infected and 33 affected children and 11 Men in the Centre.

 

 

Activities

  • Conducting Periodical Medical Checkup for PLHAs
  • Distribution of Medicines for  PLHAs.
  • Counseling for continuing ART
  • Distribution of Basic Ration of Food - Rice, Wheat, Dhall, Date Fruits – twice a month
  • Distribution of Educational Support and Material
  • Distribution of Dress Materials on National Festivals.
  • Serving special meal during visit 
  • Get-together on special occasions and festival days.
  • Formation of SHGs among PLHAs, savings and opening bank account.
  • Offering Entrepreneurship Development Training for Self Employment.
  • Participating World Aids Day & other functions of MNEC.
  • Accessing social security measures from govt. plans and schemes.
